Strengthening Arm Muscles
Building the strength in your child's arm is another essential step for mark making and early writing.
Here are some ideas you could do at home.
Make sure your child is getting lots of time to play –
- ride bikes
- throw and catch balls
- swing
- climb trees
- cross monkey bars
- go swimming – things that strengthen the whole body, and therefore strengthen the arms as well
- Try crawling on hands and knees
- Household chores such as washing up, dusting, washing windows
