Room 1 Mrs Maidment
We are taking part in the Rhyme Challenge!
The rhyme challenge will involve your child learning rhymes with their friends at nursery and sharing them with all the family at home.
You can help your child learn these rhymes by singing them at home. Please see below for the words for all of the rhymes.
DID YOU KNOW?
Rhymes help children feel confident with words and will also help them later on when they begin to read.
When you child has learnt all the rhymes they will get a special certificate to say they have completed the rhyme challenge.
So have fun and get singing!
In class 1 we have been making soup.
First some of us walked to the market to weigh and buy the vegetables that we needed and then used knives and our strong muscles to chop them into pieces so that we could blend them together to make some delicious soup that we shared as a class at snack time. The soup was delicious. The ingredients we used were broccoli, green beans, mushroom, carrots, courgette, sweet corn and a stock cube.
Here are some of the new words that we have learnt:
cut, slice, chop, sharp, pointy, grater, serrated, peel, stalk, scales, weight, heavy, light, mix, stir, blend, combine, runny, gloopy, pour, delicious, scrumptious.
